Barrie Kosky is one of Australia’s most celebrated theatre directors
with a reputation for creating challenging and controversial works, and
dividing audiences and critics alike.
He began his professional directing career at just 21, working with
many of Australia’s leading performing arts companies. At 29 he was the
youngest person ever appointed to the role of Artistic Director of the
Adelaide Festival of the Arts, and from 2001 to 2005, Kosky was the
Co-Director of the influential Schauspielhaus in Vienna.
His production of The Tell-Tale Heart, performed by Martin Niedermair,
opens this week as part of the 2007 Melbourne International Arts
