Melbourne based arranger, band leader and jazz vocalist Michelle Nicolle was awarded the National Jazz Award in 1998, with none other than Kurt Elling as one of the judges, and in 2001 and 2004 she was an ARIA finalist.
Later this month she will be performing, along with Elling and Dr Abdullah Ibrahim amongst others, as part of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival and, in the lead up to the Festival, Nicolle made time to talk with Australian Stage's Jan Chandler.
