- About Us
Edgy. Dangerous. Controversial. Unpredictable. Outside-the-Square. Innovative. Beautiful.
Fly-On-The-Wall Theatre is a company unafraid to challenge the constraints of possibility and limits of imagination. Over the years, the company has built up a reputation for daring, provocative, detailed and lavish work, garnering awards, acclaim and a dedicated audience along the way. Fly-On-The-Wall has proved time and time again, that the seemingly impossible can not only be made possible, but made enthralling and memorable.
Since its inception in 1985, Fly-On-The-Wall has staged over 250 plays and 80 readings at some of the top venues in Australia and overseas. The company's diverse and prolific output has included the spectacular “La Miracle de la Rose,” at Belvoir Street, the sell-out reproduction of “Dimboola” to the unforgettable outdoor shows of “Lady Chatterley's Lover,” “Anne of Green Gables” and “The Great Gatsby.” Fly-On-The-Wall works under the mantra that longevity is achieved through diversity, making the company not only versatile but constantly surprising.
Other productions include: “The Dream Children,” (Carlton Courthouse), Barry Lowe's “Homme Fatale,” (Theatreworks and Pleasance Theatre in London) “The Object of Desire,” (La Mama), “Almost,” (Fairfax Studio) the Green Room Award winning “In Angel Gear,” (St. Martins) “Oblomov's Dream,” (Jermyn Street Theatre in London) and the shocking holocaust drama “The Singing Forest.”
While the company has undergone various changes and face lifts during its twenty four years, they remain unwavering in their determination and in broadening a vision that is outside-the-square, unique, challenging, thrilling and distinctive. FLY-ON-THE-WALL THEATRE is a company always striving for the unseen, the unexplored, the frightening, the different and the truthful.
