Al and Matt Go Halvies - Melbourne Fringe Festival

matt_and_al_small.jpg“Al and Matt Go Halvies” is 50 minutes of stand up featuring two of Melbourne’s best comedians. Matt Stewart is pretty dry and Alasdair Tremblay-Birchall is kind of absurd (and sometimes, vice versa). After their incredibly successful solo runs at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the duo will bring their freshest new material to the stage for Melbourne Fringe.

Alasdair Tremblay-Birchall is a Melbourne based Canadian-Australian stand up and sketch performer, performing in festivals around Australia and the world since 2009. He has written on such TV shows as Mad as Hell, The Project and Dirty Laundry Live. He is a member of Stupid Old Studios and one half of podcast Two In The Think Tank.

Matt is a Melbourne based comedian, writer, actor and director. In 2013 Matt started performing stand up comedy, quickly hitting his stride and winning Australia’s largest open mic stand-up comedy competition, RAW Comedy, in 2014. He recently completed a sell out runs at Melbourne Fringe, Perth Fringe World and Melbourne International Comedy Festival with his debut solo stand up show “Pretty Dry”. Matt also co-hosts the popular Planet Broadcasting podcast, Do Go On which regularly ranks in the top 20 on iTunes’ comedy

Reviews

Matt Stewart:

'Matt Stewart might well be the perfect comedian for Australia, in that he's as dry as the Sturt Stony Desert. A glorious deadpan masks an ability of the pen that's so damned good it makes you mad." Pedestrian

Alasdair Tremblay-Birchall

"In terms of both tone and content, Alasdair achieves a perfect balancing act: ribald without being smutty, clever without being pretentious."
