COUNT DOWN TO OPENING NIGHT = 1 DAY

Exciting! It's all coming together ...

Commentary > Actor: Tory Rodd
Tory plays pathologist Sophie in How To Disappear Completely And Never Be Found. She recently made the following comments regarding this production:

"Hoy Polloy is a warm and welcoming company in which I feel I'm being taken care of and listened too. They have been understanding and completely professional.

The wonderful script of Fin Kennedy's has pulled me through some of the most trying rehearsals. That said, the best work came from these times.

My role as Sophie has been very enjoyable. I liken the experience to taking tea with someone you put on your best for. She's such a hard worker. I'm glad I could become a dear friend to her as she is quite a lonely sole. She is happy to have met Charlie.

My audition came off the back of performing 'Bombshells" by Joanna Murray Smith. I feel Mary O'Donnell auditioned with me which made for a very amusing audition. I just hope that Paul and Wayne were laughing with me not at me.

Being an Australian premiere I felt some amount of pressure to get How To Disappear Completely And Never Be Found perfect. A breakthrough in rehearsals came to me when I finally let go of the restraints put in place by the director and started to have fun again with my scenes. In the beginning I put my best foot forward but started to feel I was conforming to a vision and not evolving with each rehearsal. As the rehearsal process was almost 8 weeks long it definitely began to feel stagnant at one stage. I am grateful however of the time as it has meant I could push through into, what I think is going to be a terrific show."
