| Job Description |
Platform Youth Theatre, a multiple award winning youth arts company based in the Melbourne’s northern suburbs, is casting for an exciting new project. No experience is necessary but we are after people 16-26 years old who have a burning hunger to work in theatre to get involved with an edgy new Australian production about gender, survival and sexuality.
Roles include a hijab-wearing Muslim girl, androgynous Emo girl, kickboxing boy, innocent young women and a chorus like you’ve never seen.
This is your chance to get involved with an award-winning creative team that includes writers Patricia Cornelius and Christos Tsiolkas, and director Nadja Kostich.
Rehearsals start September 10 and will be held on Mondays and/or Wednesdays and some Saturdays through Sept/Oct/Nov. The production will be held late November/early December. You MUST be able to commit these dates to be cast.
Auditionees are asked to prepare a one-minute rhythmic vocal presentation that shows what you’ve got. This may include beatbox, rap, song, body percussion, dance/body movement or your own variations. You will also need to complete a casting application form available from www.pyt.org.au.
Auditions are being held from 5-8pm Wednesday 5 September at Northcote Town Hall, 189 High Street, Northcote.
