The Melbourne Writers Festival needs volunteers to make this year’s festival a success.
The Festival is keen to hear from anyone who is passionate about books and ideas and wants to be involved in Australia's premier literary event.
This is a great opportunity to get first hand experience working with one of Australia's most successful literary festivals. We are looking for volunteers to assist in the following areas: box office, ushering, information desk, event management, general administration, schools’ program, drivers’ for author transport, green room management and stage management.
The volunteers will be required during the festival on a roster basis and some volunteers may be required earlier. The festival would especially like to hear from anyone available to volunteer during the week.
'During festival time, volunteers are crucial for the smooth running of the festival. This year, we need 200 people to volunteer for a range of different positions across the festival, says Rosemary Cameron, Festival Director, Melbourne Writers Festival. Volunteers form the backbone of our festival, and it is always a delight to meet them; they are passionate people who are willing to give up their time to make the festival such a success’.
