QPAC will play a starring role when the best of Broadway comes to Brisbane in August!
Produced by QPAC, A Night on Broadway with John Frost is a dazzling tribute to music theatre featuring songs from hit musicals including Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, West Side Story, Evita and more.
Complementing the all-star musical line-up, the one-night-only production features a cast of some of Australia’s most celebrated stage performers including Rob Guest (the world’s longest playing Phantom), Rachael Beck (renowned for her role as Belle in Beauty and the Beast alongside Hugh Jackman), David Hobson (MO Award for Operatic Performer of the Year and winner of It Takes Two in 2006) and Tamsin Carroll (best known for her outstanding portrayal of pop icon Dusty Springfield).
Accompanied by a 23-piece orchestra, led by esteemed musical director/ conductor Kellie Dickerson, the celebrity cast will be joined onstage by the Gold Coast’s Mandi Lodge and outstanding new talent, Tyran Parke.
Internationally acclaimed producer John Frost will host A Night on Broadway and take the audience behind the scenes of the showbiz industry with some of his inside stories on the stars and producers of Broadway musicals.
The two-time Tony Award winner has great insight into show business having received numerous accolades for his musicals which include Grease – the Arena Spectacular, The King and I, South Pacific, Crazy for You, The Sound of Music starring Lisa McCune, Annie featuring Anthony Warlow, The Producers – The New Mel Brooks Musical which won five Helpmann awards, including Best Musical for 2005 and Hairspray, which won him his second Tony Award and which continues to play on Broadway.
