The clashing sounds and pulsing rhythms of New York City underscore this landmark show, considered by many to have inaugurated the modern era of musical theatre by being the first musical to deal with adult relationships through its music.
Company concerns the relationships between Bobby, a single man who is celebrating his 35th birthday, and the five married couples who are his best friends. Among the memorable and energetic songs in the show are “The Little Things You Do Together”, “Another Hundred People”, “The Ladies Who Lunch”, and the hit musical theatre anthem “Being Alive”. Company ran for 706 performances on Broadway and went on to win the New York Drama Critics Circle Award and the Tony Award for Best Musical.
