Page of Wands Theatre Company, a new addition to the Perth theatre scene, is producing their first show, the hilarious musical comedy, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change at the Rechabites’ Hall
I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is the longest running Off-Broadway musical in theatre history. It has been performed nightly for the past 11 years and is still running in New York today. The show has been running for over 4500 performances, eclipsing the records of shows such as Miss Saigon, Fiddler on the Roof, Grease, Hello Dolly and My Fair Lady.
The company’s Artistic Director, Karla Conway, stated, “As a new company, our aim is to bring a diverse selection of musical theatre to the stages of Perth. In particular, we want to bring to the stage absolute gems that are not so well knows by mainstream theatre goers. I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is definitely one of those gems!”
The cast is made up of Perth performers, all highly trained in the three disciplines of Musical Theatre, so the audience can be guaranteed a sensational quality show every night.
This celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind the contemporary conundrum known as the relationship. Act 1 explores the unending journey through the awkwardness, trials and excitement of dating, while Act 2 reveals the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and newborns, trips in the family car and geriatric pick-up techniques!
