Itchy Clacker | Tammy Anderson Print
Tammy AndersonWhen ya born a Tasmanian and grow up among the other Tasmanians, you don’t just have material, you have ammunition! You should hear the stories that blow out of this sheila’s moom!

Tammy Anderson is back and scratching away at the Melbourne Town Hall for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival from Thurs 5 - Sun 15 April.

Drawing on her own experiences of growing up in Tasmania, Tammy Anderson’s Itchy Clacker includes stories of being female, being Aboriginal and having an itch. It’s raunchy, irreverent and Blak! This is Tammy at her comic best.

Ilbijerri’s production of Tammy Anderson’s Itchy Clacker builds on the success of past Comedy Festival Natives shows. Ilbijerri extend their comedy expertise into a new solo 50 minute stand up performance.

Ilbijerri believes that Indigenous humour is an untapped goldmine of Australian culture. This has led them to providing support to local Indigenous Writers and Performers to hone their comedy skills through 10 minute stand up performances. The results were the highly successful Comedy Festival shows Natives Getting Restless Funny! and Natives Strikin Blak! performed during the 2005 and 2006 Festivals.

Tammy’s award winning and internationally toured one-woman stage play I don’t wanna play house - produced by Playbox Theatre - proved her extraordinary storytelling power. The Green Room nominated actor will once again shock and provoke in her first ever solo comedy piece. Be prepared!

What the critics had to say about I don’t wanna play house:
“Anderson’s performance is compelling, and her optimism inspirational.” Martin Ball, The Australian

“One of the best performances you are likely to see.” Sian Prior, Sunday Age

“Anderson has the impressive ability of being able to evoke images with words which is the hallmark of good storytelling.” www.meapcareers.com.au
