Do you remember where you were (almost 10 years ago!) at 2pm on August 31st, 1997?
It was the moment that Australia found out that Diana, Princess of Wales, had died in a car crash.
Marianne and Norman, a long-married, bed-death-suffering
couple from the ‘burbs, will never forget the moment they heard the
news. It was a moment that for them, brought skeletons out of Norman’s back shed, in through the fly-strips on the kitchen door and slapped Marianne fair in the face of her Whirlpool frigidity.
Nik Willmott is a successful writer, performer and director. Her most renowned work, the My Life As A Dyke trilogy has received rave reviews and enjoyed sold out seasons across the country. This has kept Nik busy for the past 6 years, so it is with great joy that she pulls “the Diana play” off the shelf and does something different for a few weeks.
Working with a wonderfully talented cast that includes the incredibly versatile Joanne Davis, Approximately 2pm, August 31st, 1997 is a guaranteed giggle-fest that will ask where you were 10 years ago and make you thank your lucky stars it wasn’t in Marianne and Norman’s kitchen!
