Welcome to the surreal lives of a wannabe gangster and his aspiring model girlfriend, a sexually precocious girl who thinks she’s Lil’ Kim, a tormented celebrity DJ and a gay man prepared to die for love. Strap yourself in for a wild ride as they lay their lives out in the back of a taxi taking them from A to B, in Ride On Theatre’s production at Brisbane Powerhouse Tuesday 27 January – Sunday 1 February 2009.
Enter a world scarred by sex, violence and crime and narrated by the taxi driver who has heard everything there is to hear coming from the back seat of his cab. From the ashes of the recent Balkan conflict, a society of sleaze has sprung up in Belgrade and these everyday characters, seen through his eyes (with some action caught on camera), have emerged from the underbelly of Serbia searching for a little intimacy.
