The sell-out family hit of 2008 returns to Sydney in January with a brand new circus extravaganza that is bigger and better than before.
Le Grand Cirque broke all box office records at Sydney Opera House when the company made its Australian premiere earlier this year. Five performances sold out before the season opened, with more than 37,000 people enjoying this stage spectacular across 21 shows.
So once again these summer holidays, Sydney Opera House invites mums, dads, kids, grandparents and fun-lovers alike to the international phenomenon of Le Grand Cirque Aerial Dreams.
Seen by millions of people around the world, Le Grand Cirque is a jaw-dropping visual feast of breathtaking group acrobatics and white-knuckle stunts. The pick of acrobatic circus artists from around the world will be brought together in Sydney for just 10 shows.
From Brazil, Canada, China, Europe, Mongolia and Russia, the international cast of 40 champion acrobats have been handpicked from around the globe for their amazing abilities and precision skills. The result is a fast-paced, heart-pounding spectacle that will astonish audiences, keeping them at the edge of their seats from start to finish.
Aerial Dreams will amaze with all new thrilling acts and a few family favourites. Witness a solo and group trapeze, contortionists, the magical cloud swing and a ballerina performing Swan Lake like never before. There’s also a nine bungee aerial troupe, 14 performers balancing on a single bike, a kaleidoscope of clowns and much more.
The Concert Hall will be transformed to house this magnificent event. With seating on three sides and a large thrust stage with a catwalk, the performers will get closer to and higher above the audience than ever before.
Le Grand Cirque is the perfect occasion to bring your kids along to experience an astounding event for the entire family. Aerial Dreams plays from Monday 5 January and with adults at kids’ prices for families at special matinees, it won’t break the bank.
Extravagant and mesmerising, Le Grand Cirque is a spectacular experience the family will never forget. The 2008 season sold out and this strictly limited run cannot be extended so tickets will sell fast.
“Defies gravity and belief…Le Grand Cirque engages an audience in a celebration of human potential.” Sydney Morning Herald
“Prepare to laugh yourself silly, gasp in awe in cringe in white-knuckled fear.” Daily Telegraph
