LA TROBE UNIVERSITY’S THEATRE AND DRAMA PROGRAM PRESENTS:
FEVER
A play never more pertinent, this political pastiche is both confrontingand moving. Performed by a diverse ensemble of actors from La Trobe University’sthird year Theatre and Drama Program.
Written by Andrew Bovell,Patricia Cornelius, Melissa Reeves and Christos Tsolkias.
Directed by Darren Lever
Four stories intertwined, set against a bleak and sterile landscape, unified by the image of a befouled river.
A fermenting community’s ruraldemise, stricken with misfortune. Nothing works, nothing grows, not to mentionthat there’s something in the water, something in the air, something on theboil . . .
Fever is an allegorical, wholly unwholesome tale interspersed with a wryand slightly twisted humour, which traverses issues of race, prejudice, andhumanity’s indiscriminate consumption of that which sustains us.
Who to trust, who to believe when nothing is as it seems?
