Her Aching Heart | WishingWell Productions Print
WishingWell Productions in association with Perth Pride and PICA present the WA premiere of Her Aching Heart, Bryony Lavery’s (Frozen) lesbian love story; an historic romp of lesbian love and desire juxtaposed with a blossoming contemporary liaison. The beautiful Lady Harriet Helstone, ardent and wilful, encounters the gentle yet determined, Molly Penhallow and discovers love; a push-pull of passion and desire ensues amidst a class difference and against all odds. Meanwhile, contemporary Harriet meets Molly… Include a votive nun, and a handful of other colourful characters, an exploration of gender and class, a comment or three on the nature of relationships, and set it against a backdrop of contemporary songs, and you have an entertaining and sexy theatre production. Wickedly funny!

“A labour of love and commitment – bursting with energy and a true testament to what independent theatre can achieve.” The Age

“WishingWell have created a gem of a production … that has earned itself a name as a must see highlight of the current Midsumma line-up.” Melbourne Stage

“Swain & Katerelos are terrific in their various parts, energetic, funny and clearly having a ball. A really enjoyable romp.” The Sunday Age
