EAT DRINK AND HEAR GREAT ACTORS READ GREAT STORIES
Christopher Brown, Dennis Coard, Helen Morse, Suzanne Shubart and David
Tredinnick will present dramatic readings from popular Australian and
international literature in an evening of food, wine and culture at the
Wattle Café (804 Main Road, Hurstbridge) on October 11 & 18, at 5:30pm. The
selections, spanning the globe, offer a mixture of classical and
contemporary stories, with both comic and dramatic themes.
****"There can't be many shows that leave you full as a proverbial good, yet
still hungering for more -- but this is one...The night wasn't anywhere long
enough." -- Chris Boyd, HERALD SUN
Since its inception early last year, this highly respected series, known as
"Beyond Cuisine", has played to packed houses at fortyfivedownstairs in
Melbourne, Montsalvat in Eltham, the Williamstown Sailing Club, the Kilmore
Town Hall, the Theatre Royal in Castlemaine, and the Wattle Café in
Hurstbridge. "Beyond Cuisine" was also a featured event of this year's
Melbourne Writers Festival.
The ticket price of $35 includes the show and main course of dinner. You
have the option of pre-ordering garlic-herb bread to be served before the
show and, of course, a dessert board will appear after dinner. (Dinner will
follow the show at about 7pm.) We expect these evenings to sell out so, if
you would like to come along, we recommend booking promptly on 9718 1378.
