In a town where imported shows like Wicked, Altar Boyz and The Pirates of Penzance take centre stage Karin Muiznieks, James Simpson, Erin Newington and Luke Hales strap on the sequins and say “Melbourne can too!” Give My Regards To Broady throws box-steps and shimmer hands onto suburban settees.
Comedy songwriter Karin Muiznieks and her team of music theatre enthusiasts have crafted a theatrical valentine’s card to their hometown. Broady tells the story of 4 down-and-out chorus kids trying to make ends meet in Melbourne - a city without a theme song. Along the way they celebrate all the little things that make our town special including the mystic power of AFL, the time-honoured traditions of Crown Casino and a warning to heed the Trams’ Ticket Inspectors.
“Enthusiasm and energy we expect from generation Y but stacked on top of this… so much talent and humour it blew my mind.”
– The Groggy Squirrel
“Talent that literally bursts out of every seam.”
