Sandy Evans was awarded the Inaugural Bell Award for Australian Jazz Musician of the Year in 2003 and is recognised as one of the leading saxophonists (tenor and soprano) and composers in contemporary jazz in Australia. She is one of Australia's most loved and respected mentors to young musicians. Her fuller biog is included in the attached release. Sandy will also deliver this year's prestigious Peggy Glanville-Hicks Oration on 1 December, broadcast on ABC Radio.
