“Conway’s Broad concept is brave and brilliant, both an inspired support system and a radical demolition of comfort zones.” The Age, 2007
Deborah Conway’s legendary Broad concert series has gained a reputation for showcasing Australia’s finest musical talents across the full gamut of musical styles.
Since it’s inception in 2005, the triumphant series has received rousing applause from critics and audiences around the country and in 2008 it is back for a national tour with a dynamic line-up of artists.
From diverse musical backgrounds, four of our finest female singer/songwriters join Deborah on stage to explore their own and each other’s music. Together, the juxtaposition of styles and incredible talent makes for a mesmerising concert experience that will genuinely surprise and delight.
Joining Deborah on stage this year is the strikingly beautiful, exotic folk harmonies of Laura Jean, the ‘oh-so-cool’ smouldering charm of award-winning jazz singer Elana Stone; the soulful tenderness of the sublimely accomplished roots/blues artist Liz Stringer; and Australian Country Music’s Female Artist of the Year, 2008 Golden Guitar winner, Dianna Corcoran.
The RocKwiz Orkestra will also be lending its talents to Broad 2008, accompanying the five unique musicians and songwriters.
Now in its fourth year, Broad has seen each year’s success build upon the last. Previous Broad artists include; Sally Seltmann, Jade MacRae, Ella Hooper, Kate Miller-Heidke, Katie Noonan, Ruby Hunter and Clare Bowditch to mention a few.
Five extraordinary artists, five unique styles, one great concert of what’s best in contemporary Australian music, this is Broad.
