“It beggar’d all description.”
Antony and Cleopatra is one of the great tragic stories of the clash between private passions and public lives. Shakespeare’s take on these historic lovers is fast-paced and engrossing.
The play was last produced by the Guild for its 50th anniversary in 1988 and that production was the first in Adelaide for 50 years – since 1938, the year the Guild was founded. We are proud to present it again for our 70th year.
Director Brant Eustice returns to Shakespeare after winning the Adelaide Critics Circle individual achievement award for his direction of the Guild’s Julius Caesar in 2006
