For the past forty years, La Mama Theatre has been an integral part of the Performing Arts Community in Melbourne; responsible for the finding and nurturing of actors, dancers, writers, directors, lighting operators, producers etc etc etc. Alumni inc: Cate Blanchett, Graeme Blundell, John Romeril, Judith Lucy and many many more.
Now their home at 205 Faraday St. Carlton is literally, under the hammer. La Mama needs to raise 1.8 million dollars to secure their home and continue their work. They have raised the first 1.2 million but still need $600,000 to secure their home and preserve an integral part of Melbourne's cultural community and heritage.
To celebrate and support and help to continue La Mama's long and pivotal role in the arts community come to an evening of dance, theatre, music and fun; which will help raise vital funds to Save La Mama.
