Billie Holiday lived a tempestuous life. Her singing expressed an
incredible depth of emotion that spoke of hard times, adversity, injustice
as well as triumph. Accompanied on piano by the Melbourne jazz icon Mark Fitzgibbon, Ruth uses Billie’s words, visual images, original song
and classics such as Strange Fruit, God Bless the Child,
and Cover the Waterfront to celebrate the art of Lady Day.
