Come and join us for this international networked event, and meet with local artists at the same time. We've been busy preparing and rehearsing with the others around the world and it's shaping up to be a fun event (technology permitting!).
Saturday 19 July, 8pm: Brisbane Bridges
Brisbane artists give short (5-10 mins) informal presentations about our work (to the Brisbane audience, not online). This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other through our work, and to build local networks. If you are interested in giving a presentation please let us know asap, and please arrive early. The doors will be open from 7pm, and we must start at 8pm sharp as we need to be ready to go live at 10pm sharp.
Saturday 19 July, 10pm-11.30pm: DIAL
Note the earlier start time for this - 10pm. DIAL will begin with introductions of the five locations involved (Brisbane, Brighton UK, Skopje Macedonia, Curitiba Brasil, and Munich Germany). Then there will be a series of small performances and events which we will all participate in.
At 11.30pm our time, the Munich DIAL group will finish in the public platz and relocate to ZKMax Gallery; there will be a pause in the broadcast and then if people are interested we can continue the collaboration into the night.
Sunday 20 July, 7pm-8.30pm: DIAL
The five locations join again, starting with an international breakfast (bring your pajamas and breakfast food!). There will be children painting and a 30-minute telematic dance performance by James Cunningham in Brisbane and Stefan ? in Munich. Some of the actions from yesterday will be repeated and the evening will end with everyone singing happy birthday (as in Munich they are celebrating the 850th anniversary of the city).
Things to bring
- plate of food and drinks
- newspaper (one of the actions involves finding interesting headlines in the newspaper)
- torches (so that we can quickly and easily light particular areas)
- a nice glass (one action will involve passing water from glass to glass - and you can use it to drink from!)
- a cushion (there is no seating and the floor might be hard for some)
- on Sunday, come in your pajamas and bring breakfast food
Venue:
Igneous Studio, 27 Waverly Street, Annerley.
