Reawakening the haunting ballads of Paris in the 1950s, French singer Pascale captures hearts with her sultry and smooth presence. Her voice transports audiences to a time of passion and romance in Paris that enthrals, with her heartfelt theatrical performances reminiscent of the Piaf legend.
Pascale entrances audiences with her Parisian charm and old-world French love songs. Her voice reveals compassion, love, nostalgia and great joie de vivre.
She presents a romantic French cabaret, delivered with deep feeling from her heart, drawing from Edith Piaf’s considerable (and wonderful) oeuvre and the music of other French singing greats such as Charles Aznavour - one of France’s most popular and enduring performers, Charles Trenet and the jazzy Danny Brillant. Her extensive song list even has a touch of Gershwin.
This effervescent performer has a French connection with the audience unparalleled in Perth.
Musical accompaniment from percussionist Marcus Perozzi and pianist-accordion player Ben Clarke delightfully complements the fine selection of songs.
Pascale is almost a born entertainer. At the age of five, her father, who had a vegetable and fruit cart in Paris, made her dance and sing in order to attract buyers.
“I was the little French Shirley Temple on the block,” she says.
“I hope that people who come to my shows are able to take with them a souvenir of France, and especially a feeling of love - a feeling that we are one!”
