New Theatre presents Arthur Miller’s great epic drama. The Crucible depicts the hysteria, paranoia and fear that tore apart the puritanical town of Salem Massachusetts during the 1682 witch-hunts. Written in the 1950s at the height of the Cold War anti-communist panic, Miller’s message remains as relevant today, reflecting the darkest corners of human nature and the terrifying consequences of a community's actions. Louise Fisher directs a formidable cast of 20 in this dynamic production of The Crucible.
