The Crucible | New Theatre Print
New Theatre presents Arthur Miller’s great epic drama. The Crucible depicts the hysteria, paranoia and fear that tore apart the puritanical town of Salem Massachusetts during the 1682 witch-hunts.  Written in the 1950s at the height of the Cold War anti-communist panic, Miller’s message remains as relevant today, reflecting the darkest corners of human nature and the terrifying consequences of a community's actions.  Louise Fisher directs a formidable cast of 20 in this dynamic production of The Crucible.

“Gripping production.... A pleasure to encounter”  Gary Smith Daily Telegraph March 2007

“The Crucible has you by the throat…you could hear a pin drop” Jason Blake Sun Herald April 2007
