Following a hugely successful national tour which included multiple sold out seasons in the regions, Mike McLeish and the acclaimed cast and crew of Keating! are returning to the Seymour Centre on July 29 for their fourth Seymour Centre season.
In January this year the highly-acclaimed and awarded production embarked on an extensive national tour which included return seasons in Melbourne and Perth, and new seasons in Geelong, Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Liverpool, Newcastle, Canberra and Wollongong.

“The show, and Armfield’s joyous, faultless production, is, like its subject, replete with a gleeful panache and pizazz.” - The Sydney Morning Herald
About Keating!
Keating! started out as a small performance piece for writer Casey Bennetto and his music-comedy collective, the Drowsy Drivers, in 2005. The wickedly clever musical burst into life at the 2005 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where it won most of the available awards including the Barry Award for Most Outstanding Show, The Age Critics’ Award and the Golden Gibbo.
In 2006, Bennetto invited acclaimed Company B Artistic Director Neil Armfield to up the theatrical ante on his outlandish and acerbic musical, reworking it to be bigger and better than ever.
Since the birth of that partnership, Keating! has enjoyed further sold-out seasons around Australia, including four in Sydney to date, a 'hottest-ticket-in-town' season at the 2007 Perth International Arts Festival and seven packed-out weeks at Melbourne's Comedy Theatre early 2007. Writer and musical director Casey Bennetto won a Green Room Award in 2005 and a Helpmann Award for the show in 2006; both for Best Original Score.
And the enhanced Company B production of Keating! has been powering through the awards since its premiere in November 2006 at Belvoir St Theatre, not only taking out the 2007 Helpmann Award for Best Musical – beating Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Miss Saigon – but consistently receiving rave reviews and standing ovations. The production also received the 2007 Helpmann Awards for Best Direction in a Musical and Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for Terry Serio who plays John Howard and Bob Hawke.
Politicians can only dream of such a run!
