Interviews with Famous People | La Mama Print
Two actors recreate a series of interviews of some very famous people. The result is a blurring of the distinction between the lives and thoughts of the famous and the ordinary. Using a variety of theatrical devices, some comic, some serious, the actors intrude themselves and their relationship with each other into these interviews.

But how do our meek actors make real the outrageous boasting of Gene, the towering ego of Orson, the megalomania of Margaret or the drug induced insecurity of Janis? The actors decide to make the whole experience into a sort of strange game where they flirt and play off each other, try to trip each other up and struggle for the ascendency.

Bob Pavlich has worked in theatre since the mid eighties as an actor and director beginning his career as part of the highly successful theatre collective Whistling In The Theatre whose focus was on the adaptation of literary works including A Thousand And One Nights, Frankenstein and The Secret Garden. In 2004 he won a Green Room Award as best director in Independent /Fringe Theatre for his production of The Art’n Death Trilogy. He is currently the artistic coordinator of Student Theatre & Film at La Trobe University where he has directed over 30 productions. This will be the 15th time he has been involved with La Mama as either an actor or director.

Darren Lever is a Melbourne based actor, comedian and musician.
