New Melbourne theatre company Type Faster present The Water Sellers, by Kieran Carroll, a frenetic splash into the world of three crazed expats making money and big decisions in a world of dehydrated nightclubbers. Romantic complications, water strikes and a bold return to Barry McKenzie speech patterns turn everything back to Gundagai!

Toxin Free. A one-house, one-inhabitant 'independent state' belonging to Alvin... The only Water Seller to holidaymakers and night-clubbers of Indulgence City.
That is, until the Lord Mayor of Indulgence City, Alvin's ex-wife, employs Barry as competition.
Will Alvin be forced to give up his water-only diet?
Will the Lord Mayor curb her plans for a 24-hour party palace?
Will Barry please put something over his Speedos?
Surreal slap-stick and a hankering for the Woy Woy dishlickers lead Alvin and Barry's paths to criss-cross the boundaries of their respective states and hard-earned friendship. Selling water has never been such serious, life-threatening business.
Kieran Carroll (Winner Best Original Production, Melbourne Fringe 2002) brings The Water Sellers to Dantes in Gertrude Street, Fitzroy, presented by Type faster (formerly Naked Heatwave). Snappy language, absurd characters and Carroll's inimitable sense of humour will easily resonate with theatre and non-theatre-goers alike. With a homage to Australian cinema from the 70's and 80's, The Water Sellers will extract the dinky-di from the proverbial 2000's. No matter how deep we've buried it.
Type Faster are proud to present 'The Water Sellers', directed by Noel Anderson (Dark Angels), featuring Dennis Manahan (Macbeth the Contemporary Rock Opera), Josh Futcher (Porky Pies) and Elissa Doxey (The House of Anomalous, Flick).
