Alexey Yemtsov wowed critics when he stepped in at late notice to perform Rachmaninov's Variations on a Theme of Paganini in 2007. He makes an eagerly awaited return with another of Rachmaninov's famous works for keyboard, the majestic Second Piano Concerto. In a program overflowing with memorable melodies, Alexander Lazarev conducts Glazunov's beautiful architectural poem, his Fifth Symphony.
