 `Jake is a writer with two problems, - writer’s block and a marriage crisis! When life becomes too much for him he retreats into the rich world of his imagination and summons up the women in his life for help. There is his current wife, his bossy sister, his daughter, his scornful counsellor, his idealised first wife, long dead and his would-be third wife .This is where the problems for Jake start. At first he invents their dialogue but then they start to wander off his plot and develop lives of their own- something that grows outside of his control.
As Jakes Women flashes back and forth between now and then, between real and imaginary, we experience Neil Simon at his Pulitzer Prize winning best: uncovering truths, touching our hearts, and making us laugh… always making us laugh. Featuring David Cotgreave as Jake, Vanessa Harding (current wife Maggie) Nicola Ward (daughter, Molly) Gail Lusted (sister, Karen) Olivia Darby (first wife, Julie) Ann Speicher (Edith, counsellor) Siobhan Donald (girl-friend Sheila) with Ashleigh Zinko and Amelia McLaughlin-Jones sharing the role of the young Molly..Alan Alda played the part of Jake in the original Broadway production and the made-for-TV film in 1996.
