QPAC’s popular Out of the Box Festival has, traditionally, been designed to entertain the children, but in 2008 there is a special event that is strictly adults only!
A lively and entertaining evening, Parents’ Night Out celebrates parents and parenting.
Part of the third Child Friendly Cities Symposium, presented by QPAC, Museum of Brisbane and Griffith University at the Out of the Box Festival, Parents’ Night Out is an evening of lively debate and entertainment about parenting and being parented in urban and suburban life.
Parents’ Night Out will feature World Vision CEO Tim Costello, comedian Fiona O’Loughlin, journalist and author Frances Whiting, playground expert Prue Walsh, Indigenous community leader Darren Godwell and child friendly cities scholar Dr Paul Tranter and will be chaired by Life Matters presenter Richard Aedy.
This esteemed panel will ponder the question “Are today’s cities destroying childhood?” punctuated with music from ARIA nominated vocal and percussion group Coco’s Lunch.
Refreshments will be served afterwards in the foyer where audience members can continue the discussion with panel guests and symposium organisers.
