Beyond Cuisine Print
Eat Drink And Hear Great Actors Read Great Stories

Kirsty Child, Bruce Hughes, Bruce Kerr and Suzanne Shubart will present
dramatic readings from popular Australian and international literature in an
evening of food, wine and culture at the Wattle Café in Hurstbridge (804
Main Road) on Friday, June 13, 20 and 27, at 6:30pm. The selections,
spanning the globe, offer a mixture of classical and contemporary stories,
with both comic and dramatic themes.

This highly respected series, known as "Beyond Cuisine", has played to
packed houses at fortyfivedownstairs in Melbourne, Montsalvat in Eltham, the
Williamstown Sailing Club in Williamstown, the Theatre Royal in Castlemaine,
and the Wattle Café in Hurstbridge since its inception early last year.

"Most of us remember the pleasure of being read a favourite story at
bedtime. We offer grown-ups an opportunity to experience this joy in an
adult setting," says Ms. Shubart. "These readings, however, come across
more like a theatrical event rather than a literary one. The actors give
performances from the page."

The ticket price of $35 includes the show and main course of dinner.  You
have the option of pre-ordering garlic-herb bread to be served before the
show and, of course, a dessert board will appear after dinner. (Dinner will
follow the show at about 8pm.)

If you would like more information about this event, please ring the Wattle
Cafe on 9718 1378 or visit www.beyondcuisine.com.au. Bookings are
essential.
