Celebrating the timeless genius of William Shakespeare, the inaugural Western Australian Shakespeare Festival, Bard on the Bay will be presented in a range of magnificent settings in Western Australia’s South West, Bard on the Bay will offer a range of entertainment activities and associated entertainment in venues in and around the Busselton shire, structured around productions of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” and Chaucer’s “Canterbury Tales”.
The festival also offers educational workshops for schools - Bard in the Classroom and Shakespeare for Grommets - along with Free Lectures, Acting and Directing Workshops and Themed Dinner entertainment at local restaurants for the general public.
“Battle of the Bards” competition with a total of $3000 in cash and prizes will be staged for all the budding bards in the community. There are three different age categories as follows: Junior Bard (8-12) Bard in Training (13-17) Senior Bard (18+).
