Swimming Home in Heels | post Print
"Post write exceedingly well, act with verve and dance badly with great conviction… a potent addition to the Sydney performance scene" Keith Gallasch, REALTIME

Lost in a highlighted, over-stimulated and definitively pink universe, post presents Swimming Home in Heels, a ten-minute performance in a hotel room for one audience member at a time. In this live installation, each visitor will be escorted into the whirlwind schoolies vacation of three teenage girls…

We're so excited you're here. We move fast looking for action, or maybe new nail polish. We're safe together. We whisper to each other in pink tights. We are new best friends. We whisper to each other in pink tights, and push boundaries to impress each other. . We are crude. We are always right. We lean in to pash a stranger at four in the morning and begin projectile vomiting without restrain. We pause, take a breath, and keep leaning for that pash…Don't be scared, we did it once before...

Developed with a 2007 Kickstart Grant from the Next wave Festival, and with presentation funding from the Australia Council for the Arts, Swimming Home in Heels is exploring lies, intimacy, and what is hidden beneath the glitter lip gloss.

This is how it works: book in a time and show up at the hotel. You will be greeted and welcomed into the six underfed arms of three schoolies in their hotel room. Half teen party, half ghost train, it is ten minutes of super fun.

Key Artists / Creative Team Natalie Rose, Zoe Coombs Marr and Mish Grigor formed the Sydney based company post in 2004. In 2007, their work 'Gifted and Talented' was awarded 'Best Performance' and 'Adelaide Touring Award' at the Melbourne Fringe. Exploding out of the hot young Sydney DIY scene, post's performances are a unique combination of artistic sensibility and kitsch comedy.

For post's last show, 'Gifted and Talented':

"Painfully, laugh out loud funny… This is exciting, intelligent, blackly comic and confronting theatre. Clearly post are talents to watch carefully"
David Williams, Version 1.0

"This is a great show… startling and fascinating… hilariously unique" Australian Stage

This show is a part of the 2008 NEXT WAVE Festival
