‘This is a story about jingles…love, loss and jingles…’
*2008 Moosehead Award Winners *
*Direct from the 2008 Melbourne International Comedy Festival *
TRS are very chuffed to welcome back the creators of A Porthole into the Minds of the Vanquished with their strange new baby: The Jinglists.
Meet Leigh and Loman – agoraphobic half brothers who when not composing merry tunes for sex lines wonder whether anyone will take their bodies away when they die;
One room. Two jingle writers. Catchy melodies and crippled emotions. Everything seems to be OK in this strange little world…then one of them falls head over neck for the woman upstairs. Can love rescue these men or will they pummel each other into the abyss of madness?
***Press for 2008 MICF Season of The Jinglists:
‘…postmodern minstrels…distinctive brand of absurdity… their comedy is animated by a lightning intelligence…’ The Age
‘…consummate performers…they bring to their strange, absurd story a compelling poignancy…’ Alison Croggon: Theatre Notes
‘… midway between Beckett and the Boosh...the stuffcults are made of.’ chortle.co.uk
***Press for A Porthole into the Minds of the Vanquished:
‘An organ-shudderingly hilarious two-hander… indecently funny… a potential cult monster… it may be the most joyously deranged hour you'll ever pay to spend’ The Metro
‘A real work of genius’ Three Weeks
The Jinglists:
Wonderful, helpful, funny, weird, happy and dangerous. Handsome andweird. Good Luck.
