Part
truth, part surreal, part tongue in cheek – Clickety Tock is a fast paced, intriguing installation
theatre piece that wanders into the chaotic, stressful and time starved life of
the 21st Century.
Enter into the mundane life of Tom (an accountant tick
tocking through his day to day life) and those that surround him: a
relationship starved, fast paced “suit”, a pedantic and frustrated personal
trainer, an over-committed and talented uni student, a lost, heart-broken
procrastinator, a beauty obsessed woman, and an overwhelmed grandmother coping
with the developments in her world.
Be part of a small, interactive audience and take a fly on
the wall look at these people, their choices, their lives.
How do you allocate your 168 hours a week?
Clickety Tock
is a new installation theatre piece that combines puppetry, theatre and
experiential moments for a small audience of 24, which later splits further
into groups of 4. Clickety Tock allows audiences to
wonder through the space while experiencing close-up, bite sized pieces of each
of the six character’s worlds - all at the same time.
Enter into an
intriguing and wry journey where Tom goes about his every day life: productive,
punctual and somewhat painful. On this day he remembers Mathilde, a girl he
fell for when he was young. He reminisces about her freedom, her desire to
ignore the regular routine of life… How much he had forgotten her passionate
words.
What happened to
Tom to make him end up where he is? Who is he influenced by? What world does he
now live in? Meet those in Tom’s life and see….
Written and directed by Alex Desebrock (Kaleidoscope, Melbourne Fringe 07) with

Bevitt and set design by Dayna Morrissey.
