Riverside Theatres proudly presents the 2008 Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow on Wednesday 11 June for one performance only. From the Big Prawn to the Big Merino and the Big Banana, the Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow has toured all the wonders of Australia and is now coming to Parramatta!
This annual show once again promises to keep audiences doubled over with laughter. The 10th massive Roadshow will present 111 performances at 73 venues across the country. From mid-April, they will be packing up the Melbourne camp and setting off on their great comedic journey throughout Australia.
Boasting to be bigger and better, this year’s Roadshow features a roll call of the most fabulously funny home-grown comedians and overseas guest artists fresh from the 2008 Melbourne Comedy Festival. Those displaying their comedic flair will be Mickey D as host and featuring Dave Williams with several other comedians still to be announced.
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is one of the three largest comedy festivals in the world, alongside Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Montreal's Just for Laughs Festival. An annual event, the Comedy Festival literally takes over Melbourne each autumn with an enormous program of stand-up comedy, cabaret, theatre, street performance, film, television, radio and visual arts.
The Roadshow delivers a slick, sophisticated, unpredictable, entertaining and outrageous night out to comedy fans all over this wide brown land.
