Boris Berman, Professor of Piano at Yale and revered globally for his stellar performances, makes his Queensland debut, under the baton of Finnish firebrand Pietari Inkinen. Berman encompasses the emotional range of Brahms’ First Piano Concerto, from its intense opening to the heavenly peace of the central adagio. The windswept exhilaration and sensuality of Debussy’s powerful musical seascape La Mer is followed by Ravel’s haunted ballroom in La Valse, his intoxicating, ghostly waltz about a world of elegance, lost forever.
