Brisbane’s most intimate outdoor live music venue, QPAC’s Cascade Court will rock again this month with some of the country’s best up-and-coming bands at the third of its free Nights Outside concerts.
Headlining the 26 April concert will be sizzling Sydney indie pop band, Sparkadia. Brisbane fans will enjoy a special preview of songs from the band’s debut album, Postcards, which will be launched in Australia on 31 May ahead of its international launch in June.
Recently touring the UK and Australia with their single, Too Much To Do, Sparkadia has enjoyed considerable airplay in Australia on Triple J and on BBC 1 and 2 in the UK.
Opening the Nights Outside entertainment on 26 April at 7pm will be Brisbane band The Quills.
Fresh from the launch of its debut EP Some New Place in December, which debuted at number one on the 4ZZZfm Top 20, The Quills are enjoying an exciting 2008 as they tour in support of the release. The four-piece band has attracted huge crowds to their widely talked about and powerful performances, including supporting ARIA winners Operator Please and performing at the Woodford Folk festival.
Completing the Night’s Outside line-up is independent Brisbane band Hip Pocket.
Winner of Triple J’s Unearthed competition, Hip Pocket featured at the Big Day Out in 2007. Since then the band has released its EP Extra Ordinary Magnitude. Its latest single from the album, Kick Ya, is receiving considerable airplay on Triple J.
