 KAYE SERA and The Opium Den proudly present a very special Midsumma Festival 2007 cabaret season.
Join Kaye Sera (one of the few drag performers to sing live), for a bouquet of popular performers in the intimate surrounds of the Opium Den, Melbourne’s newest live music venue.
Top of the Opium bill is much-loved songstress, Deborah Conway (pictured) and her guitar-strumming partner, Willy Zygier (Saturday, January 27). For this Midsumma exclusive, Deborah and Willy
present an intimate night of music from their current album release,
Summertown. Patrons can expect a warm and woody performance of acoustic
based music from an award winning career spanning twenty years.
Hosted by Kaye Sera the Midsumma Festival Opium Den program also features Sydney cabaret star Andrew Threlfall (January 20), celebrated singer/songwriter Andrea Rieniets (February 3) and Melbourne music legends David Rogers-Smith and Mark Jones (February 10)
Support appearances from local cabaret artists, Ms Josephine, Tim McKew and Lulu make for a bumper four-week season, bound to be a popular Midsumma Festival destination.
