Gadgets | Marguerite Pepper Productions Print
Marguerite Pepper Productions in association with Riverside Theatres proudly presents the part-theatre, part-jam session show GADGETS at Riverside Theatres from Tuesday 10 June for six shows only. The audience will be enthralled by this entertaining production, which promises to leave a trail of laughter.

From the legendary Circus Oz, Joel Salom has devised a witty and innovative show that combines technology and live music with rhythmic juggling.

“This show has taken me places I have always wanted to go, dark places, exciting places and stupid places,” says Salmon. “Gadgets is a high energy show band as much as a theatre show.”

Musicians Jim Dunlop and Marko Simec perform a mix of pop, classical, metal and jazz infused gypsy swing in a hilarious music and circus event. Marko plays a multitude of sounds from his midi keyboard, piano accordion and loop pedal, with Jim on drum kit, guitar, acoustic bells and whistles.

GADGETS also stars Erik the Dog, a sharp, irreverent, smooth-talking tin terrier with attitude! Joel and Erik have performed at festivals on all five continents.

Joel Salmon is a diverse performer and has been referred to as a comic, rapper, juggler, gadget man and MC Extraordinaire. He invented the JAMIDI system for GADGETS, a juggling activated musical instrument with a digital interface.

Jim Dunlop blends character comedy with his music and has toured with Circus Oz for the last four years. He has performed with a range of theatrical bands, mainly cabaret, and produced his own musical acts including Butt Funky.

Marko Simec is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and performer. He has toured with Circus Monoxide and Plasticien Volante (France) and performed with live bands Wicked Beat Sound System and gypsy funk band Waiting for Guinness.

“Erik has the cynics in stiches, no bones about It”- The Sun Herald

“The wittiest member of the crew is Erik the Dog. A remote-controlled tin terrier who rolls around the stage, chats up the front row and extols the joys of “sniffing all my friends' bums”. Predictably, the kids squeal, the parents groan and the critics quietly shut their notebooks.” - Time Out, New York
