The ‘poetic, original songs’ and ‘extraordinarily brave vocal style’ (Folk Rag) of Stephanie Barros Lees are features of the pear and the awkward orchestra, a mini-orchestra of diverse instrumentation and sparse arrangements supporting an emotive and powerful voice and gritty, personal songs.
