The Viola in My Life Print
In possibly a once in a lifetime experience, Brett Dean has assembled the principal violists of Australia’s symphony Orchestras to the Academy for a viola revenge.

Expatriate violist Andra Darzins (Principal Violist of the Stuttgart Symphony Orchestra) will join Roger Benedict (Principal, Sydney Symphony), Katharine Brockman (Principal, Melbourne Symphony), Paul McMillan (Principal, Orchestra Victoria) and Dean (former Principal, Berlin Philharmonic) for an in-depth exploration of the wondrous not often heard repertoire for the viola. Four concerts featuring these internationally ranked performers will culminate in the ultimate viola fantasy when 12 VIOLAS will perform Brett Dean’s Testament (written for 12 Violas of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and a bizarre arrangement of Johann Strauss’s Emperor Waltz.
