Subtitled ‘17 scenarios for the theatre’, Martin Crimp’s post modern play Attempts on Her Life is a rollercoaster of 21st Century obsessions
from pornography and ethnic violence, to terrorism and unprotected sex. Shocking and hilarious by turns, its strange array of nameless
characters attempt to invent the perfect story to encapsulate our time.
Martin Crimp is one of Britain’s most important contemporary playwrights. Fiercely poetic, political, but above all, hilarious,
Crimp’s writing invites us to look at theatre, our world and ourselves in very different ways.
Director Susie Dee explains the production as, ‘a pastiche of imagery and loosely linked threads weave a shifting tale of imagination and intrigue
through these darkly comic, irony-laden scenarios.'
Directed by Susie Dee (Melbourne Workers Theatre, Circus Oz)
