After a huge 2007 releasing Dream Days at the Hotel Existence and completing a national tour with Silverchair, 2008 sees the band returning to theatres before heading overseas in July to perform on a bunch of festival dates across Europe, including the O2 Wireless Festival in Hyde Park, alongside the Counting Crows & Ben Harper.
These theatre shows will comprise two sets – one acoustic / one amped - with the audience getting the chance to choose the setlists, which will ultimately become a mix of POWDERFINGER rarities and hits both old and new. Voting will begin on Monday, 14 April at 10.00am and continue until 5.00pm Wednesday, 30 April. The band will decide whether they will play each song acoustically or plugged in – so there’ll be plenty of surprises at each show! Yes, this does mean that you might just hear an old favourite from Parables...!
The band are totally excited about putting together a set list that will be a mix of POWDERFINGER rarities and hits both old and new. This is definitely going to be THE ultimate tour for the fans and one to remember for a long time to come!
Earlier today Fanclub members snapped up several thousand tickets to the shows in less than 5 minutes and the tickets released tomorrow are expected to go just as quickly.
Dream Days at the Hotel Existence – The Deluxe Edition, 2 disc set is OUT Saturday, 19 April and includes a bonus DVD featuring POWDERFINGER Live in Concert Max Sessions filmed at the Sydney Opera House late last year. Special guests on this extraordinary concert for National Breast Cancer Month include Missy Higgins, Nic Cester (Jet) and Kev Carmody.
POWDERFINGER has also just released the fourth single Who Really Cares (featuring the sound of insanity) from their critically acclaimed multi platinum album, Dream Days at the Hotel Existence. This is an exclusive iTunes release and features a previously unreleased B-side One More Kiss As You Fly Away.
