Popular Sydney playwright Wayne Tunks (The Subtle Art of Flirting, Silvertop Ash, Hell Hath No Fury, Unrequited, The Bridesmaid Must Die) has gone back to his roots. Love, loss, laughter, tears – and the western suburbs!
The newest play by the award-winning writer - born and bred in Blacktown in Sydney’s west – is the debut production for new company Catalyst Theatre. It’s set squarely in the heart of Penrith and is playing there too - at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre… opening in the west before heading to the city… not the other way round!
Directed by Alexandra Byron (Journey into Sin, The Boys), and produced by Alan Lao, this murder mystery cum social drama starts with the mysterious death of a beautiful local woman. What follows are the six stories of the people left behind and how they deal with their love, their grief and their suspicion.
We meet the parents, the fiancée, the flatmates and the boy next door whose obsession for her was reaching worrying heights. We hear their stories and find out which one killed the girl from the west of the city.
The play stars Ashley Adkins, Alix Armstrong, Angela Beal, Samuel Faull, Peter Flett, Scott Grimley, Emma Harris, Anna Hruby, Alan Lao, Zoe Velez and Adam J. Yeend.
