Fatal Attraction centres around Blair Griffin, a fading movie star who is in retreat in her country hideaway in Massachusetts. In the throes of divorce, she invites her husband Morgan to collect some of his paintings. The visit sparks a murder and from this point the plot twists and weaves to its unexpected climax.
Director Shelley Brown says the play will keep the audience on the edge of their seats
until the very last second. “It has all the ingredients of a classic murder mystery and then some,” says Shelley. Megan Kelly takes the lead role of Blair. While she has acted in a number of Limelight musicals, including Charlie Girl, Irene and Me and My Girl, this is her first straight play for the company.
Another welcome return is by long-time member, Linda Masterman as the police sergeant, while Karen Tropiano takes the role of Maggie. Blair's agent and close friend. All three of the male cast are new to the Limelight. Jarrod Buttery plays Gus Braden, a police lieutenant, Troy Hall is a photographer who stalks Blair, and Wade Ellis plays Morgan, the estranged husband of Blair.
Shelley says patrons should be aware that there are scenes in the play which are visually graphic and could cause offence to people of a timid disposition. “However, these scenes are vital scenes in the context of the play.” It is very different from Bernard Slade’s other works which include Same Time Next Year, Romantic Comedy and even many episodes of television’s Partridge Family.
