 The beginning of another season of music at the Maj, designed for everyone from office workers, students and tourists, to shoppers and retirees. At a budget price, this is a unique way to spend a lunch hour.
And these two excellent vocalists were the choice to begin it.
Justin and Marnie showcase the most popular jazz standards, rhythm and blues, classic and contemporary pop numbers of the last 100 years.
Both WAAPA graduates - Justin in classical piano and Marnie in jazz voice - these two are a natural combination.
Now each a significant component of the jazz, club and cabaret scene in Perth, Justin having found an excellent singing voice, too, to match Marnie’s versatile vocals. He has also established himself as a piano teacher of both classical and contemporary piano and a radio presenter.
Marnie, on the other hand, has performed in productions of ‘The Mikado’ and ‘Calamity Jane’ as well as being a key member of WAYJO, Sister Moon, Saxchange, Divided Self, Hothouse, Lady Luck and The Jazzmen and Ginger Blu. She’s also supported artists such as Grace Knight.
