Continuing the proud tradition of great guitar performances in Frankston, the Frankston Arts Centre is bringing Spanish guitar master Alberto Perez to Cube 37 for a one-off performance on Saturday the 29th of March.
Alberto Perez is one of Spain’s most-acclaimed classical guitarists. He has toured extensively throughout Europe, North and South America and Asia. This will be his first trip to Australia, supported by AECI (the Spanish Agency for International Co-operation) to showcase Spanish guitar music.
Alberto’s repertoire spans a wide range. He is well-versed in Spanish guitar works from the last 500 years and also specialises in performances of Renaissance and Baroque period compositions such as Bach’s Chaconne for Violin. In addition, he has composed many of his own pieces, including works for electric guitar.
As well as his touring commitments, Alberto has taught guitar masterclasses throughout the world, presented his research into guitar history at several conferences, recorded over thirty CDs and worked extensively as a session musician.
At Cube 37, Alberto will perform a varied selection of different musical styles, utilising both acoustic and electric guitar. This performance is for anyone who loves the guitar, whether classical, rock or jazz styles. Arrive early for tapas from 7pm.
